 Famous Landscape of Lam Dong Province

Xuan Huong Lake has an area of 32ha and the average depth of 1.5m. It is located on an elevation of 1,478m above sea level and it is considered as the heart of Dalat. In 1919, according to the suggestion for a plan of building Dalat city of the ambassador, Mr. Cunhac - the civil engineer, Labbe built a dam to retain water and then the stream became a lake. The French called the lake Grand Lac.
Tuyen Lam Lake, 6 km to the South of Dalat, has the water surface of 350 ha. It was created by Tia stream - head water of Da Tam River. No one knows when and why it was called Tuyen Lam, but maybe because of the grandiose nature around it - stream and forest were close to each other. Tuyen stands for stream, Lam stands for forest. Tuyen Lam is a place for water and tree meeting each other.
Than Tho Lake is located in the East of Dalat and it is 5.8 km far from the city center. In the past, the lake used to be a swamp. In 1937, the French built a dam to retain water from Cam Ly stream then they made it a lake with an area of 8.5 ha and it provides water for the entire city of Dalat.
Dalat city. In 1999, Mr. Tran Dinh Lanh - Director of water supplying company of Lamdong province had an idea to build a 3 - hectare garden in Golden stream waterworks for his workers relaxing after working days. After that, because there were a lot of compliments for his garden, he decided to build an ecological tourist site. The design was made by Mr. Nguyen Huu Thanh and Le Van Khai, architects of Southern Building and Architecture Company.
The waterfall is located in Xuan Tho Commune, Dalat city, in National road 20. Take a turning at the km-post No.13 and keep going around 2.7 km, you will see the waterfall.
Damb'ri waterfall is located in the Northwest of Baoloc town, Lamdong province. Damb'ri waterfall is a famous destination for tourists and it is the highest waterfall in the province (57m). Its surface width is 30m.
Prenn waterfall is located at the foot of Prenn Pass which is 10 km far from Dalat city. Prenn waterfall is the gateway of Dalat. In the old time, there was a village of prenn up the stream, so the waterfall bears the name Prenn.
Langbiang Mountain is located in Lac Duong district which is 12 km from Dalat in the North. With its height of 2,169m above the sea level, Langbiang Mountain has not only been an attractive tourist site but also kept a legend about a passionate love.
The Valley of Love is located in the Northeast which is 6 km from Dalat city, Valley of love is one of the poetic beauty-spots of Dalat.
The Buddhist Meditation is located on phoenix hill with an area of 25 ha. From there, we can see the panoramic view of Tuyen Lam lake and Elephant mountain in the far distance. With its advantage of location, Truc Lam monastery meditation was designed with a new style of  architecture by Mr. Ngo Viet Thu. The sanctum  was designed by architect Huynh Ngoc An. The sanctum has rectangle shape which is toward the South. Sanctum surroundings are a lot of  traditional Vietnamese pagodas which were  built by ferro-concrete. The monastery was designed modernly. It is simple in its form but modern in structure and use.
When visitors arrive Dalat city, the first thing makes them feel impressive is the bell tower of the Cathedral which local people has called it "Cock church“. It is because there is a man-made cock stuck on the top of the tower. It is the biggest church in Dalat city which was designed and built by Frenchman.
It is located in Lacduong district and a part of Dam rong district, Lamdong province. It has an area of 63,938 hectares with its multiform natural resources and beautiful sceneries, especially its waterfalls. A center of ecological tourism and environmental education has just been founded there.
Palace I - King Bao Dai bought it in August 1949 and renewed it. Since then, it had become a general headquarters and an office for his subordinate officers. Palace II - This Palace was the summer palace, the residence and the office of governor Decoux. Palace III - This had been the Palace of King Bao Dai, the last king of Nguyen Dynasty in Vietnam when the French helped him retake power from 1948 and established the Royal Territory in 1950.
Located from the center of Dalat city about 5km on the road to Love Valley, Hill of Mong Mo is a tourist attraction opened in 2003 on the occasion of 110 years of Dalat formation and development.
The park lies 150km northeast of Ho Chi Minh City and 40km south of Buon Ma Thuot and straddles the border of three provinces – Lam Dong, Dong Nai and Binh Phuoc. It is an important national park located. It has an area of about 720 km² and protects one of the largest areas of lowland tropical rainforests left in Vietnam.
