National budget prioritizes natural disaster prevention and climate change response

will be given to key national projects on natural disaster prevention and
climate change response.

The Government chief made the point on August in 13
in Ha Noi while presiding a Government meeting on medium-term public
investment plan for 2016-2020.
PM Phuc tasked the Ministry of Planning and
Investment (MoPI) to collect comments to perfect the allocation of the VND
10 trillion (over 430.6 million) which is the reduction of the capital
initially planned for projects of national importance in the medium-term
public investment plan for 2016-2020.
He stressed that budget allocation must give a
priority to key projects on natural disaster prevention and climate change
The MoPI was tasked to review the remaining
investment source in the 2016-2020 period and prioritize urgent and
important projects which promote regional connectivity; support
difficulty-ridden regions; and prevent natural disasters and climate
The same day, the Government members debated the
funding for the Huu Nghi-Chi Lang and Dong Dang-Tra Linh expressways running
through the border provinces of Lang Son and Cao Bang. These are the
projects crucial to economic development of northern localities./.
